November Social Media Guide

It's already time to put your jack-o-lanterns and skeletons back in the closet and start thinking about how to connect with your audience this holiday season! From Thanksgiving all the way through ringing in the new year, the holidays can get hectic for everyone so make sure you're thinking about your social media strategy in advance.

The Smaller Holidays

Before we jump right into Christmas, let's focus on the two smaller holidays celebrated in late November. Small Business Saturday and Giving Tuesday are both driven by social media and great opportunities to promote your business.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is on November 24th this year, always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is celebrated on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the entire year when customers are actively shopping for the holidays.  This day can be a great opportunity for your business. Try promoting special offers on social media encouraging your audience to "shop small" at their local auto shop this Small Business Saturday.

Giving Tuesday

Have you thought about celebrating Giving Tuesday? The Tuesday after Thanksgiving, November 27th, is a global day of giving. It is fueled by the power of social media and known as a great way to spread holiday cheer to those who need it most. It is a way to kick off the charitable season and remind others that the holidays are about giving back.

To join in on the fun of Giving Tuesday you can partake in random acts of kindness and encourage your followers to do the same! It may not seem like much, but you never know how much a small act can mean to someone.

Barrett's Tire of Dover has always been repairing bikes for kids without ever promoting it, but that doesn't mean it went unnoticed. When we shared a post asking their followers to leave them a review they were flooded with people saying nothing but kind things about them and everything they do for their community.

Share a Personal Photo

If you want an easy way to spread a little holiday cheer, we recommend sharing a personal photo. Instead of just writing "Have a safe and merry Christmas!" and hitting "share", put a photo with that post! Your audience enjoys seeing the friendly faces that work at their local auto shop and the holidays are the perfect time to snap a quick group photo and share it.

Updating your cover photo is a great way to show your shop's personality and how you celebrate the festive season. Least year, Western Tire of Burbank changed their cover image to reflect their Christmas celebration.

It doesn't matter if you're all gathered around a Christmas tree at a holiday party or simply just standing in front of your shop. A simple group photo could do a lot for your business this holiday season.

Giving Back

It's easy to get distracted by the great food and beautiful decorations that come along with the holiday season, but try not to forget one of the most important parts of the holidays: giving back.

Giving back is more impactful than ever because of the power of social media. Is your shop participating in a toy or food drive? Make sure to put the word out on social media! This is a great way to spread the word, encourage people to donate, and let them know where they are able to do so.

The holiday season is a great time to promote your business while still celebrating what the holidays are all about. If you have any questions about how to promote your business this holiday season, make sure to ask your Net Driven Customer Relationship Manager! They'll make sure to pass it along to our Social Media Specialists.
