Give Back Using Social Media
Giving money to charity is great, but sometimes you wish you could do more. If you don't have a lot of time to campaign or volunteer, that's okay. There's still plenty of ways you can help out your favorite charity.
Use your social channels to share information:
The internet makes it easy to share what you care about most. While writing a Facebook status or Tweet might seems like a small, simple gesture, the impact could be greater than you imagine. You can link your favorite charity's homepage in a post or share a relevant article. Chances are, if you find a message compelling, other people will too. Spread the word and see what happens.
Follow and subscribe:
To get the latest updates find your favorite charity's social channels and follow them. By doing this, you're more likely to learn about events and volunteer opportunities that you can use to get your shop involved.
Start a fundraiser for your favorite charity. Use your shop as a drop off center. You can promote your fundraiser on your social channels and challenge your customers and community members to get involved. Take pictures and videos of all that you're doing in your shop to share with the charity. Don't forget to take a picture of the drop off so those who were involved can see how much of an impact they made.
Don't have the time or room in your shop to host a fundraiser, but you still want to help out? Try hosting a virtual fundraiser. Create a Facebook event and encourage your customers and community to donate money on a certain day. To promote, you can start a Facebook live video to tell your Facebook fans why you're supporting this charity and why they should donate too. Update your Facebook page with a post celebrating how much you raised.

Does your shop host an annual charity event? Last month, County Tire Center hosted their 5th annual Free Brakes for Food. They offered a free brake inspection, free brake pads, and a half hour of free service when you bring in 12 non-perishable food items.
To promote this event, County Tire Center filmed a short video and shared it to their Facebook page. With the help of Net Driven’s Social Media Team, this post reached over 2,100 people and generated 60 reactions, comments, and shares. As a result of this fundraising campaign, County Tire Center was able to drop off 1030 pounds of food to Hope of Addison County Hope. Congratulations to their successful campaign!
